What Are Weight Loss Pills?

Weight loss pills are prescription medications that help support weight loss by reducing appetite, increasing metabolism, or affecting how your body absorbs calories.

These medications are often recommended for individuals who:

  • Struggle with hunger and cravings
  • Have not seen results with diet and exercise alone
  • Prefer a non-injection treatment option

At MD Diet Clinic, we tailor each plan to your specific needs to ensure safe and effective results.

How Do Weight Loss Medications Work?

Different medications work in different ways, but most weight loss pills help by:

  • Suppressing appetite
  • Increasing feelings of fullness
  • Boosting energy or metabolism
  • Reducing calorie intake

Our providers select the right medication based on your health history, goals, and lifestyle.

Our Weight Loss Injection Options

Phentermine

Phentermine is one of the most commonly prescribed weight loss medications. It works as an appetite suppressant to help reduce hunger and support short-term weight loss.

Contrave

Contrave works on areas of the brain that control hunger and cravings, helping patients manage eating behaviors more effectively.

Lomaira

Lomaira is a lower-dose form of phentermine that can help control appetite with a more flexible dosing approach.

Diethylpropion

Diethylpropion is another appetite suppressant that can support weight loss when combined with a structured program.

Benefits of Weight Loss Pills

When used under medical supervision, weight loss medications can provide:

  • Reduced hunger and cravings
  • Better portion control
  • Increased consistency with diet plans
  • Support for gradual, sustainable weight loss

Pills vs. Injections

Both pills and injections can be effective, but the right choice depends on your needs.

Weight loss pills may be ideal if you:

  • Prefer oral medication
  • Are looking for short-term appetite control
  • Want a simpler treatment option

Weight loss injections may be better if you:
